The types of albums you can make Most people use Chronological albums for their family and children's albums. However, there are many people who choose to only document special events and they do so in themed albums. Chronological albums- start at a child's birth and follow a child's life like a storybook. Special Event or theme albums are an entire album of an event or a collection of events or theme. Christmas albums can hold photos from all of your yearly family Christmas celebrations. A vacation album can be used to document the yearly family vacation or to highlight a special vacation trip. School albums, sports albums and career albums are a few of the many types of special event or theme albums that you can make. ABC Albums-Create a unique alphabet book starring your child on every page. You can use your photos to create a one-of-kind learning tool for your child. Start with the ABC's or for a younger child start with colors and shapes and add the ABCs and numbers later. Your child will "reading" their own special ABC book and will learn more every time they pick it up. Your child will love knowing that their Mommy made a book just for them and will treasure it forever. ABC albums can be made for adults, too. Theme ABC albums are a great way to do a vacation, wedding or anniversary. Tribute Albums are created for a person by another. They celebrate the person's life and/or achievements. A tribute album is a great birthday, anniversary, retirement or going away gift for a person or couple that is special to you. Heritage Album- a heritage album contains the family history. A heritage album can be done with old family photos you have for your family's past history. A heritage album can also be done with your current photos to document your family story for future generations. Many genealogists like to assemble the products of their research into a Heritage Album. For information on Heritage Albums go to the Family Matters article.
